Young childrens understanding of shapes is essential from ages 3 through 6 to a future study of geometry. Initially, they look at a shape as a whole and not as a sum of its parts. As they become familiar with the various natures of different shapes, they attend to the properties of the shapes. Through the game, children will explore and distinguish the different orientation, size or ratio of various shapes.
